    Lucas Flores

Head Instructor; Black Belt — 3rd Degree

Professor Lucas Flores, born in Brazil, started training Jiu Jitsu in his hometown in 1996, at the age of 15. At 10, he started training and representing the Gracie Barra team. He became a black belt in November 2013, under Professor Maurício Melo, and received his 1st and 2nd degree on his black belt at the hands of Master Carlos Gracie Jr.

This year he completed 9 years as a black belt, receiving his 3rd degree. His dedication as a Jiu-Jitsu instructor started early, as a purple belt at the Gracie Barra Blumenau school with his teacher, and continued from the beginning of 2010 to 2015, at Gracie Barra Itapema, Brazil. At the time, Professor Lucas was participating in social projects for underprivileged children through the practice of Jiu-Jitsu in his region. Dedicated to training with adults and children, they began to have a vision for their own business. Inevitably in 2016, he opened his very own Gracie Barra school, in Balneário Camboriú.

As a competitor, Lucas has fought in regional, national, and world competitions, winning notable titles and participating in refereeing in Jiu-Jitsu championships. He’s participated in seminars led by some of the world’s greatest professors and masters of the gentle art form, widely increasing his knowledge in the area. He’s also worked as the head coach for Gracie Barra Infantad, in Portugal, and has been invited to teach classes at other Gracie Barra schools across Brazil and the United States. Currently, Professor Lucas sets his goals towards strengthening the team of Gracie Barra teachers in the state of Kansas.
